T - The imagining technique
In the last few decades, digital technology has increasingly contributed to supporting and representing architecture in its most advanced and visionary forms. Together, an increasing advancement of technologies and new materials has potentially enabled architecture to give shape to any experiment imaginable.
Based on these assumptions, what is the relationship today between creative process, imagination and new technologies? Some of the most advanced and experimental protagonists on the architectural and artistic scene confront each other, asking themselves questions on the delicate relationship between the new technologies and the forms of creativity to build the habitat of the near future.
Moderator Alessandro Cecchi Paone.

Palavela: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

T - Building for the future
What does it mean to imagine and design spaces for the near future? How can architecture satisfy an increasing and necessary demand and desire for a different and human scale future? What challenges will an increasingly aggressive and irresistible metropolitan growth pose to architecture? What relationship should be established between sustainability, new resources and environmental quality? How are we to shape the spaces and places that are to foster peaceful coexistence and, together, generate a widespread inhabiting quality? These and other questions are answered by some of the most innovative and experimental authors on the international scene, through their works and their way of thinking.

Six young Italian architectural studios discuss together the possible strategies, occasions, limitations and problems of the contemporary national scene starting from ongoing works and experiments. SS - Expert knowledge: software interoperability
Environmental protection is strongly influenced by project decisions and by how these are taken and managed, and hence, also the development of digital technologies which enable an optimal control of the project in each single phase of the construction process can improve environmental quality. The hope is that a project based on a three-dimensional graphic model of a building constructed using interoperable software technologies allows the architect, engineer and the other professionals involved in the construction process to concentrate their efforts on a project culture oriented toward environmental protection, rather than on managing the complexity of the design process.

SS - Universal & Inclusive Design: Towards an Architecture for All
This special session will explore the renaissance of an idea, of which perhaps Vitruvius, Palladio, Wagner and Aalto were the greatest exponents: that nothing should be conceived or built without thinking of how it will be used. Today this idea must be reborn in order to move towards greater social sustainability in architecture. We must find ways to avoid the excessive monumentality and inaccessible cities and buildings of the past which have led to the isolation and social exclusion of elderly people, those with poor health, disabilities or limited resources. The session will conclude with the presentation of the Mondo Architecture for All Award and awards for "The most friendly and accessible public projects from Region ll".
