High-tech bamboo pavilion
June 28 - July 3 Lingotto, Via Nizza, Turin Viewable during opening hours for congress-dedicated areas Free admission The aim is to create a community area conceived through the interaction of sustainable technologies and intended to host the Slum(e)Scape exhibit curated by the Turin Polytechnic. The structure of the pavilion, which looks like a photovoltaic sail, is meant to suggest the use potential of a low-cost building material like bamboo, which combines excellent physical-mechanical performance with a very high environmental sustainability profile. The pavilion will be created through a workshop for students and young architects at the Turin Polytechnic. The bamboo has been tested by the DICAT department of the University of Genoa engineering faculty.
