Manuel Blanco
Manuel Blanco, holds the PhD in Achitecture, and, since 1993 has been Full Professor in the Department of Architectural Composition at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, (ETSAM UPM). At UPM, he directs both the program in "Architectural Analysis", and the Ph.D. program in Architectural Records and Documentation.
He is a member of the Steering committee of the ICA-SAR, International Council on Archives-Section on Architectural Records, and organized and was the director of the 1st International Congress of Architectural Archives (CAA) (2004). His professional experience has concentrated on curating and design of international architectural exhibitions, that includes: "Campo Baeza Light is More" at the last UIA Congress in Istanbul, and his widely traveled exhibitions on the work of Santiago Calatrava. He was also Commissioner of the Spanish pavilion at Venice's 10th Architecture Biennale in which he presented, "Spain [f.] We, the Cities." He is also a member of the International Confederation of Architectural Museums (ICAM) and was the first director of the Museo Nacional de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de España (2007) |
