Francesca Bagliani
An architect who majored in historical gardens and landscape at the Versailles School of Architecture, she has a PhD in "History and Criticism of Architectural and Environmental Heritage" from the Turin Polytechnic, where she does research on and teaches about garden and landscape architecture, from the standpoints of theory, design and history. Since 2006 she has been teaching a course in "Landscape Design Theory and Techniques" at the Turin School of Architecture. From 2002 to 2006 she held a research grant for the Piedmont Region's "Corona Verde" project for the strategic planning and governance of a green belt in the Turin metropolitan area.
She is the author of essays and articles on landscape themes, including Public Landscapes and Urban Greenery in the XIX Century. Treatises on Garden Art and Urban Planning Theories (Rome, 2004); with Claudia Cassatella, Undecided Landscapes, Alinea, Florence, 2007; The Letters of Carlo Allioni (1728-1804). Territory, Flora and Gardens in the International Relations of the "Piedmont Linnaeus" (Turin, 2008), with Ermanno De Biaggi, Corona Verde; Projects and Policies for a Park System in the Turin Metropolitan Area, published in "Ri-vista. Ricerca per la progettazione del paesaggio" ("Re-view. Research for Landscape Design"), year 1, 0 issue (July-Dec. 2003). University of Florence Architecture Faculty , PhD in landscape design. Is scientific co-chairman of the international architecture review "Creare Paesaggi" ("Creating Landscapes") promoted by the OAT (Turin Province Order of Architects PPC) Foundation, the Piedmont Region and Turin Polytechnic (2002, 2004 and 2006 editions). Was co-curator of the minutes of the aforementioned conferences for Alinea /Florence, 2003, 2005, 2007). She has been a practicing architect and landscape designer since 2002 and is a member of the AIAPP. |
